Camden Diner, Camden
American cusine, very much in London.
Naturally, there is a great variety of burgers available here. The Tickled pickle was rated “so f***ed up but so nice”. The Beefless Bad Boy burger is not a truly exceptional work of qorn, but good and tasty still with a quality and skilfully applied vegan cheese topping. The Cluck burger helps this place stand out from the crowd. The Po Boy shrimp forms a lighter but filling and flavoursome long roll intermediate between the burgers and hot dogs. While these burgers are customisable, they are not considered a full meal which would set you back an additional fiver for fries and about the same again for a side. I might respectfully suggest an all day breakfast could be the best option available for large meals.
Delicious multilayered dirty Macs are also present, including a delightful Cluck and chilli sauce loaded mac that really displays the culinary nuances available at this venue. Ferocious Piri Piri sits atop Cluck katsu on top of a tangy coconut cheese on top of a deliciously flavoured mac base ensures these dishes are a highly entertaining culinary journey from beginning to end.
To complete the classic diner lineup, 6-dollar-shakes abound, from a tasty Oreo shake to a creamy thick shake to a very drinkable line of vegan shakes that well deliver the smoothness of soy with a richness that doesn’t leave you lacking. Their vanilla option includes actual vanilla impressively. A full range of alcoholic drinks are also available, revealing hidden depths to a “diner” which struggles to keep up with the level of flashiness of the local restaurants, although fans of its american aesthetic will nonetheless find the wall mountings interesting at least.
