Kings Kebabs, Shenley Road Misadventure
Off the beaten path there lies a warm, community-fostering kebab shop with a plurality of traditional options, in style.
Kings Kebabs is a venue best enjoyed in summertime. A veranda on the side, right in the middle of Borehamwood’s Kebab Mile, and a sharp salad allow you to really enjoy the weather whilst chowing down on a donner kebab, or sumptuous flame-grilled shish of lamb/chicken, with a soft but crispy pitta toasted quite expertly.
The sauce options tend towards a more sophisticated palate, the garlic sauce coming with mint and the chilli sauce being light but potent in order to throroughly transmit a warming feel throughout any given dish. Classic pickled green chillies are available to bring a further spicy punch when required. If you want to add a hearty little something, hummus.
The menu comes with a wide variety of options, despite a dissapointing paucity of meat-free ones, but does however include underrated traditional options like lahmacun, desserts like baklava (pistachio) and even a children’s menu. They even sell taramasalata and ayran! The experienced patron recommends choosing the larger options for everything other than ordinary donner. The cheesy chips are pretty decent as well.
